Darn Craig's List
« on: April 22, 2018, 06:41:57 AM »
Well I let someone talk me out of my 1993 Nighthawk so of course I needed something to replace it (my wife is rolling her eyes) and this had popped up on craigslist to the north of me. Well it can't hurt to go look I say to myself...you know the rest of the story, picking the bike up Tuesday. Got what I think is a very good deal on it.

Those are really nicely built bikes.  But sold nighthawk????  Best bikes from honda!  Plus values just keep going up.

Those CBs though... I really wanted one...

A year or so ago some dealers were selling some brand new leftovers for $6995.00 or even a little less, good value. Friend of mine has a black one, and its a 6 speed. He has a pipe on it and a couple of custom touches and when he let me take it for a spin I liked it very much.
Yours is barely broken in, am sure you will like it also. Enjoy !

it is a 2013 so  5 speed, there are still new 2014's out at dealers. I have seen them priced as low as $5995 (of you then have to add on all the dealer BS). They are black, I like red. Plus this one is close by.

I saw this one on reddit. Looks amazing with the classic tank and seat. No idea how they mounted it up though.

Theres a kit you can buy to make them look like the old 70s 750s. I think its called k10 or something like that

Also should have given it chrome 4 int0 4 and made it a 750 or smaller. No need for 1100 cc with modern bikes. I've also read that it rides like a hog. Not sure why they went with such a huge motor. 750 would have been fine.

Nah, 4-4 would have been pain in arse, 4-2 nicer.  But in the end, it all came down to having an aircool meet modern emissions.  That means displacement to have a reasonable power.  Combine with the vintage style of suspension, what were peeps expecting.  Handling is terrible vs other modern bikes cause it is an old style suspension.

Shame it didnt sell well, but was a bad time to hit market.
