Correct but as you go up in fuel needs you need to adjust float height. Pretty simple idea.
If float level is correct, IMS and pilot jet changes are needed to correct lean/rich mixture....not raising the fuel level.

Pilot jets only effect idle and float levels are not as important. But like I said, if you start adjusting mains and needle height it does become an issue especially when carbs are at full demand.

As I stated before, fuel supplied will always be more than maximum fuel needed(until fuel is exhausted)....its the way HONDA engineered it  :-\

As I stated before, fuel supplied will always be more than maximum fuel needed(until fuel is exhausted)....its the way HONDA engineered it  :-\

Yes but not much difference past 1.5. Hondaman suggested 38 to 40 pilot jets for a good smooth idle. I kind of trust his opinion

Ok, you guys have me thoroughly confused. What exactly is your opinion? Mixture screws (which meter fuel on the PD42Bs) out 1.5 from seated? 3 from seated? Or something else?

I’m going to switch to #40 idle jets, but in the meantime, is a setting of ~3 turns from seated likely to help, or throw the whole thing off?

the pilot circuit doesn't stop,it adds to the entire mixture at full throttle aswell.

your learning all the time painted seat,more complicated automotive carbs have clever air bleed systems to shut down the idle circuit,some the idle circuit is fed through the main jets first.

From reading Hondamans stuff he doesn't really mention it has an effect on anything besides idle. I can see where it would effect across the board but it has to be very minimal.

vacuum is vacuum....itll pull gas from all sources. the smaller volume sources are just maxxed.

Leave your float height stock.   2mm added fuel depth will not aide in fuel supplied into the carb bowl.  Honda already engineered it. 
Fuel supplied > max fuel used

idle plug chop. 
if mixture is lean, first richen idle with the IMS.
if the IMS gets past its useable range, go up in pilot jet size, and reset your IMS to stock.
idle plug chop, and adjust IMS again.

Its pretty simple....

Paintedseat (Michael Cox) - why do you continue to ignore me? I have sent you multiple private messages and attempted to contact you for over a month with no reply. You still have my carburetors and at this point I am considering them stolen by you. Did you use them on the bike that you are selling?

I need you to reply to me and let me know what is going on and where my carburetors are along  with the several hundred dollars worth of new Honda replacement parts.  If you want to settle this in small claims court we can, but surely you can do the right thing and not let it come to that.

Please reply to me and let me know what is going on.

If anyone else reads this and knows how to get a hold of a board moderator, please let me know so that I can speak with them about this as well.

In the pm I explained that my ultra sonic cleaner went down and I had to purchase a new one. I also let you know that with my job I have to go out of town for days to weeks at a time. And my father past away Saturday so I've been busy and this is the first day I have even been on hear in a week. I don't understand why you haven received the pms but I responded. I already rebuilt the first set and he has them and is very happy. Look I did them for free but I am going to do them right. I probably bit off more than I can chew doing this right now. The carbs are assembled and I am waiting on a accelerator pump to arrive because the one you included just would not pump so I ordered another Honda part to replace. Give me a second and I will go to my garage and take a picture for you.

No I don’t use that app and I haven’t received a single PM since you replied that you had purple loctite on April 6th. Your replies should be saved in your sent box - you could post screen shots to show them. Either way, when I send you this pm on May 5th, it may give you a clue that I haven’t been receiving anything:

I'm set to receive PM’s - I received them from paintedseat until April 6th, just nothing since then. I also have pm’d other members in that time and received replies. Just a few days ago I pm’d the other guy he did carbs for to see if he had the same problem as me and he was able to reply to me just fine.

Maybe it was the app he was using... I’m just happy that it sounds like  I haven’t lost a good set of carbs.
