Topic: 1975 Cb400f gas cap gasket size

Hey all!if anyone can tell me the gasket size for the gas cap on a 1979 CB400F I would greatly appreciate it. Got the bike all sorted today and am ready to start riding it, was tucking everything away when I decided to check the gasket and it was beyond dead. The bike is 30 miles south of me and I left the old gasket there and would prefer not to make another trip so I can ride it home tomorrow! Thanks!

On a flapper type lid the seal is 46mm inside, 61mm outside, and 4mm thick. The screw-out cap under the cover type has a seal 39 x 59 x 3mm. These are measured used seals so the "factory" sizes may have been different - on mine the rubber might be shrunken or swelled a bit.

And if you switch out your cap gasket, make sure your cap vent isn't clogged while you're at it.
