adding oil pressure gauge
« on: July 21, 2006, 10:43:24 AM »
Where is the best spot on the engine to put a 1/8 line to run an oil pressure gauge?
I really am not a fan of idiot lights.
Thanks, Robert

yea it's the 750F2. Is it that chrome bolt that leaks on my bike? :)

If you want to run an 1/8 line, go into the pressure switch under the cam chain adjuster.

Look in the link at the bottom of my posts, look at the pic with just the bike, you can see the pressure guage next to the rev counter (tacho).

Our Australian forum brother Terry sells them ready to bolt on for anyone reading this without the gauge lying around the shop or for those with the gauge who don't want to spend a few days finding the correct fittings.

I like mine. ;D

We bought the complete kit from Bartell Engineering in Northern Ireland, can't recall the cost as we bought quite a lot from him.

can they be installed on a 500? or in a remote position, like inside a windscreen or a dash area?

I have found the only problems with mounting up on the dash with a mechanical one is that the line does not live too long. I am sure there are better braided lines you can get, but I was thinking of using an electronic gauge. These should be dead easy to set up.

What is a normal oil pressure? 100lb or 60lb gauge?
The thing about common sense is that, it's not that common.
