Topic: Australian import model identification

Hello. I would like to correctly identify my cb550 for when ordering parts and checking specs. The compliance plate states that it is a cb550K built on 2/1978.
But the serial numbers identify it as a cb550K3 1977 model according to the sohc-4, model guide.
frame cb550K 20-----
engine cb550E 20-----
It is an Australian import.

Sounds about right. The Australian Compliance plate gets put on after it lands on our shores.

My Land Rover is same. Complianced the year after it was manufactured.

Thanks Disco. Good to know. Also it has pd46A carbs which a just read was a difference between the two years. So I'm going to call it a 77.
