Hello from the land of the White Christmas, NE MN

Get the correct tires and you can enjoy the gravel and the pavement.  I do on my 550F.

I jsut saw all these replies! I need to figure out notifications.

I ended up with a 76' CB750F... that is in worse mechanical condition than she looks. Im hoping to find someone close that knows these bikes to help me get her on the road but its more likely that Ill be getting the manuals and seeing how much trouble I can get into.

If she ran as good as she looks, id be out riding. It turns out that she had 50k miles from 76 to 92 and about 500 miles since then. She is running on 2 or 3 cylinders and the brakes are locked up. I need to figure out the ignition, coil, plugs to see if I can get all 4 cylinders working then see how the vales are doing and diagnose the oily plugs. Im planning to remove and rebuild the brakes / master cylinders and replace the lines. Then I jsut have to hope the bottom end and trans are in decent shape.

I was hoping this bike would help me learn to work on bikes but I didnt plan on the crash course. But Im not looking for any kind of restoration, I jsut want to get her running good and start putting miles on her. Im going to take her to a fella today with decades of experience with these old CBs and see if I can trick him into helping me learn.

Nice looking F. IMO that's 75% of the game. You can't easily or cheaply restore appearance. The mechanical stuff, while seemingly daunting, is the most obtainable part.

Rear brake caliper rebuild kit at SiriusConInc.com:

Part No.   PISTON5x2SCI12022
Model   CB750F GL1000 GOLDWING
Make   HONDA
Part   Brake + Clutch Parts
Price   US$ 79.99 USD
Year   SEE DETAILS
Status   IN STOCK

They should have your other brake components too.

Just don't be in a hurry. This project will take a bunch of time and $$ if you have to get into the engine.
