K1 suspension
« on: May 05, 2018, 01:41:21 PM »
My K1 owner's manual tells me to refill the fork with "7.0-7.3" ozs of 10W-30 motor oil. I thought ATF was the fork oil choice back in the day according to Service Bulletins. How many cc's of ATF would a totally dry, rebuilt K1 fork take? CB 750 BTW

Yeah that is one of those topics where people are super opinionated. Never see any science though. Just gosple.

I think ATF is widly used for budget minded folk, myself included, it won't foam like motor oil. If your looking to tune the front softer or stiffer you can use fork oils which you can get in a range of weights. Heavier the weight the slower it moved through the oil passeges. Thus a stiffer feel.
