Can anybody shed light on the original specification 3rd gear part number 23460-300-010 which has been superseded with part number 23460-410-305. The superseded part has what looks like an oillite bronze bearing fitted, whereas the new part number part has a splined component press fitted. The original part is able to spin on the counter shaft until the dogs on the 4th gear engage it. The updated component with the press fitted internal component would obviously be locked into position on the counter shaft, I assume this would cause the transmission to lock up? Is 23460-410-305 actually the correctly specified component? can the internal splined part be removed and replaced by a bronze bearing.
any thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated.

The CMS picture with the bronze bushing is part # 23460-410-305. No idea what the gear in the second picture is.

The second picture is of the part 23460-410-305 which both CMS and yamiya750 site sell/ have sold as the update of the 23460-300-010 part.

In 77 and 78 2 gears  that drive the sprocket changed tooth count, they can be switched but only in pairs.

Same tooth count. The only discernible difference is what is pressed into the internal bore, bronze bearing or splined part. The reason for the query is I am replacing all of the gearbox spur gears etc and the 36T 3rd gear is the last part I need. As both CMSnl and Yamiya750 list the 23460-410-305 part as the updated component and it appears the easier of the 2 to get hold of I am trying to workout how it would work, if at all.
anyway thanks for the input so far,
