Luckily sold the shock already. A friend of mine is building a flat track style or something close to it with a twist VX 800 and he immediately grabbed it.
This mistake only cost me 13 Euros so not a biggie ;D

Small but pretty important piece arrived from US yesterday.
I'll pair it with the SRAD front wheel and have my friend machine spacers to make it all fit together.
1986 forks, 1987 front axle (oh yeah, not a straight swap) 750 SRAD wheel and GSX-R 1100W speedo drive.

I'm keeping this bike suitable to fit nordic classic road racing F1 class rules so no real modern parts.
Brakes will be Italian, pretty much the best I can use within the rules 8)
I've ordered plenty of stuff from Carpimoto, works like a charm.

These early GSX-R's have one of the coolest tachometers I've ever seen.
Who needs to know revs when the engine is running under 3K  ;D

Slight change of plan.... can't get the speedo drive to fit with the SRAD wheel so I'm gonna swap front wheels with JMR-Suzuki.
It has a GSX-R 750W front wheel and SRAD wheel can be fitted to replace that so there's really no issue at all.
Stupid of me to think I could squeeze the wider wheel AND speedo drive to old narrow front forks  ;D

Today I took the Slabside off the wall, installed the swingarm, removed old steering lock and checked all the rivet nuts.
A couple of them needed replacing so that is done now.

Ended up ordering a GSX-R 750 W front wheel so I can fit a speedo drive. Sorry about the mess in the pic, we have a lot of shi... projects.

Seems like I get nothing done with all the projects and the daily drive giving me trouble and to be honest that seems to be the truth  ;D
Anyhoo, I'll get the front wheel spacers early next week so that's a step forward and two steps to the side if I have learned anything over the years.

Fuel tank is going to be modified with endurance style fuel cap and added capacity.

It's looking good, I can't wait to see it done.  8)

I got the 81' GS 1100E oil leaks sorted out, thanks. Just put a clutch in it and we're going to sell it and keep the 80' GS 1100E. I've always wanted a Sportster and if I don't get one soon I'll never get one. Plus we need to thin the herd because it is difficult to work in the shop with so many bikes in the way.

Glad you got the leaks sorted. Saves a lot of time and effort when those o-rings leak and you know it  ;D
