CB350F CB400F oil filter housing -- long or short?
« on: May 06, 2018, 01:11:23 PM »
I'm curious -- anyone know why there are two sizes for the CB350F and CB400F oil filter housing? There is a shorter one with just a spring, and a longer one with a spring and spacer. I believe that the 350F one was shorter perhaps because of the 4-4 pipes, and since the 400F exhaust wraps around there is room for something slightly bigger. But why? Any advantages? I'm actually buttoning up a 3550F with 400F pipes and have both housings, just wondering if there is a reason I shuld use the longer one.

The longer housing with spacer is used on the 350F.
