electrical guru - need some advice
« on: May 16, 2018, 03:02:02 PM »
Working on a silly hooligan flat tracker (XR600R) and I'm wanting it to have lights etc.   I have a couple options.    I' can leave the stock wiring pretty much as is as there really is nothing to it.  It can run the coils/CDI unit.   But, since it's a dirt bike, the stator doesn't put out much power for a consistently bright light.   I could add an upgraded stator, but those are somewhat expensive.

Ideally, I'd like a separate circuit with a very small battery that would power an LED headlight with hi/lo beams, LED tail light, and maybe some LED turn signals.   I'd leave a connection to charge the battery.   I'd like to use tiny/micro switches for the head light and possibly turn signals.    After doing a little reading, the momentary switch would need to be run through a latching switch module ???     Anybody have any experience with something like this?
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.
