Slingshot Cycles No More?
« on: May 16, 2018, 05:03:36 PM »
I'm looking for some stock brake hoses for my 78 550 and am having a hell of a time finding ones for the 78. Anyone know what happened to Slingshot Cycles? I should've ordered some a while back. Seems like the website is down and last time the member was on here was over a year ago.

He tends to go on walkabout periodically. Apex brakes can make you custom lines for the same cost

Look for a local hydraulics supply company. I can get custom lines made just a couple miles from my house for a fraction of what the specialists charge. Rubber, braided, etc. Not quite as many color options  (if that's your thing), but pressure tested and pennies on the dollar.
Take your old hose in to show them what end pieces you need.

The problem, at least for me, is finding a place like that open on Saturday since I have a day job in downtown Chicago and can't just cruise over to one at lunch time. For me the extra cost of using Apex or a similar place is worth it because it saves me a lot of trouble.

Great advice.  There are two places around here I use.  They make them while you wait.
