Bracken Ridge Terrence.  About two Roger Gould punt kicks behind the Bracken Ridge Tavern.
Nice quiet little spot. 15 minutes to Clear Mt , 30 mins to Mt Mee or Glorious or Nebo.
Plenty of twisties around here as you'd know.

Hell yeah, I had a Kawasaki Z750L2 then a Ducati 900SS (POS, but it handled well) that I used to punt from my place, across MT Nebo and Mt Glorious, and home again. Great days! ;D

OK so the bike has been with me for a week now, and after the initial euphoria I took off the rose coloured glasses and had a closer look.
Well, the bike is definitely original.... apart from most NIS screws in the engine being replaced with SS socket heads.  The tank is also original, and has a couple of small dents and a few chips which have been touched up with the wrong colour! :(
I don't think the handlebars are stock, so I'll look for some which have a higher "rise", close to stock.
The sump pan drain plug is definitely NOT stock!  Needed A 24mm socket to undo, then found it was a long bolt with an extra nut screwed onto it to ensure it didn't go too far into the oil pan! Sheesh!  >:(   It was weeping a tad, so fixed that until I get a replacement pan.
Other than that, the bike runs very well indeed!  ;D

Yeah, my 24 year old Harley Sportster with only 8000 Km on the clock has a couple of (badly) touched up paint defects Andy, but sh1t happens, and it still looks pretty good from here! I don't know if NIS screw kits are available like CB750 ones, but I suppose you could buy a Honda kit and hope that you'll only need to shorten some, as opposed to finding some longer ones? Geez, if that sump plug needs a 24mm socket, how big's the hole?

I have to admit I've got a soft spot for the GS750, I almost bought one when I was 17 but couldn't get the finance, (so I bought a new CB750F a few months later when I was 18 and didn't need a "Guarantor") the one I put a deposit on was a blue one just like the one in this pic. Note the low bars Andy, although my memory is weak, I'm pretty sure it had bars just like the one in this pic, and the ones in yours. I know that the Americans seemed to prefer higher bars on just about everything, but I think that at least Oz, Britain and Europe had lower bars. Enjoy that bike! Cheers, Terry. ;D

Great looking GS. Those bikes were a nice step up in handling from the CBs.  I particularly like the 1000cc.  Looks like you have a pretty clean one.

I just purchased an 81' GS450T w/ the same front brake. Would like to ask how strong is your front brake ?

Not so much, old school stuff. Went to dual late in same year on the Euro model. Mine is the E model and the front fairing was offered on the S model. Found that in Canada. Very rare and hard to find.

Your 81 is a USA model correct? Appears to be a 82 model.

Sorry to hear....

Finally got her home end of April. 93 days total, made a mess out of her. Getting better, follow up visits, PT. The medical care today is a mess. Had to meet with the hospital director twice. Night nurses were awful. Fired a few doctors. Had to spend four days a week sleeping in a recliner just to keep an eye on all of them. Transpoted to rehab center in Phoenix. Five hour trip, was a joke also. 12 hours there then hospitalized again for nine more days in Phoenix before coming home.

Still working on rehab after four months. What’s the point now?

If I wasn’t her power of attorney I don’t think she would be alive today. She agrees as well as some nursing staff and case workers. Doctors cover their azz.

Most awful, stressful time of my life. Lost 20 pounds, didn’t eat or sleep. Broken foot equaled 93 days hospitalized? Should of been surgery, outpatient.

Thank GOD it’s over.
