CB750 Swingarm Bushings
« on: May 18, 2018, 09:35:25 PM »
Over the last couple years the 750 has developed a little too much play in the swing arm bushings, just wondering what people are doing these days (May 2018) for replacement parts and rebuilding? I have also noticed the collar seems to be available again too...

It seems Honda has the bushings available # 52108-300-300, they look like decent metal ones not the crappy plastic ones they once supplied?

Also Yamiya has bushings but they look plastic? anyone used them?

then these needle bearing arrangements seem to be around too?

If anyone has other suggestions Im all ears, bronze bushings are also an option just havent seen them as much as i used to.

I think the bushing of choice are oil infused brass (or maybe theyre bronze) ones. Not sure a source to buy them right off, but I'm sure other members do.  Personally, I have a needle bearing kit (like that you show from z1). The issue point out with them is that the swingarm doesn't make complete rotations and cause the bearings to wear unevenly. I actually plan on installing mine next week, so update the post with what you find and what you decide to do!

Oilite Bronze is what they are. Oil impregnated bronze. I think I got mine from an eBay seller. Some German dude who makes them. Many members use his bushings with success.

My research on this- The Honda ones are steel- steel on steel -no good. Wears the shaft out. Plastic-too soft. Bronze are best but getting a nice, tight fit is difficult. That said I used bronze I got off ebay. Fortunately they went in tight and I had to size them with a bit of honing. Bob

I replaced mine and ordered from the Kenosha Kid on the ebay link above.  Very prompt and tight fit.  I can really feel the difference back there after replacing my originals.  K3 750.

I ended up ordering the bushings from Kenosha_Kid the other night heard lots of good input over the years, ordered a second set for my 71 CB450 its not listed as an application but i highly suspect they are the same...

Now I gotta call a Honda Canada dealer and see if i have any luck with the collar otherwise i guess i will pick one up from Yamiya
