550 front axle placement
« on: May 25, 2018, 10:19:22 AM »
Had her garaged for a year, now I'm going over everything and I cant remember if this is correct or not.  Should the axle be flush w/ the outside of the mount?  Advice please.  I'm rusty and confidence is just low lol.

On my 550 it sticks out a little past flush.  Yours doesn't look right for sure.

Also, the axle cap has an orientation to it. Look underneath of it, there’s a small, single, stamped dot. That side goes forward creating a gap at the rear.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S.
