Still won’t rev out but new details
« on: May 28, 2018, 11:00:14 AM »
1973 Honda CB350F Bike won’t rev all the way out when driving. But if you pull in the clutch while you are driving it goes out to redline. And call me crazy but the more I try to get it to rev out the exhaust sounds different now. Louder and more of a clap comming from the exhaust under load. Like a clap noise instead of a rumble. What could this mean?

Have you done a full and proper tuning on the bike as per the manual?

Sounds like you're probably running lean, or your spark starts to extinguish under load (bad points/bad condenser/weak coils).

Brand new points. Brand new condensers. And brand new coils.

Have the carbs been cleaned and float height set to 21mm?
If so, are the carbs syncronized?

What about points gap set correctly and timing?

Sorry just going through the checklist of what I would be looking at.

Btw, is the bike stock ?

I am just going to tear it all back apart. Because I have to replace the valve seals. So when I put it back together I’m gunna check over everything again and report back what symptoms. I’m hoping non. But what symptoms I’m having
