CB550k - carb fuel leak?
« on: May 26, 2018, 03:09:03 PM »
Yesterday I adjusted my clutch cable and went for a short ride to test it.
Noticed fuel running from carb overflow tubes.
Looked like clutch cable (when pulled in) had slightly unseated rubber boots from the carbs to the air box.
Refitted boots but problem remains with fuel running from tubes when peacock open.
Any ideas? Suggestions?

Float stuck most likely. Bowls are too full and running over.

Thanks. Do I just go ahead and inspect each float and reassemble?
(I’m a novice)
Any cautions or watch outs? Anyone know a good video tutorial?

You can try tapping gently on the leaking carb bowl. Sometimes that will free them up. Otherwise pull the float bowl off.

Thanks. A technical tap seemed to work. Appreciate your help!

Cleared the float bowls anyway and there was a bit of gunk in the fuel that came out.
