1978 CB 750 stock wheels

Looking for new tires on stock wheels.  Looking at 140/80 17 and 120/90 19.  any issues with this setup that you can see?

I believe that's the correct rear size. Front is 110-90-19 on my 78. I can confirm this for you when I get home later.

Both of those would be wider than stock. They likely will fit, but confirm your rim widths (look on the rim near the tube valve stem hole, then check the manufacturer's site for the minimum widths. The front is a 1.85" and I typically run a 100/90 on the front of my bikes with stock wheels.

Ok, I want to run a little wider tire in front and back.  Is 120 too wide for front?  I heard 140 will fit without any issues but no wider.  Going with Shinko's

120 is certainly gonna be a #$%* to get in there and it may not even clear...it's gonna steer like a truck with no power steering too

Just as seanbarney said. 120 is a very tight front. I run 120 rear and 100 front Shinko 712s on a 78ss and it handles well. Just my 2cents.

Whatever improvement in looks you think you will get with the wider tires you will give back in actual handling. Don't go wider than 110 up front. Personally I went with stock inch sizes on my 750F, which is 19 front/18 rear with Metzlers.

My 550F, which had Lester alloys on it (I switched to wires recently because I am selling it) has 100/90-10 front and 110/90-18 rear Shinko 712's. Both the front and rear Lesters are 2.15" wide. The wires are both 1.85.

I was able to confirm I am running 100 up front. Ordered a replacement Shinko tire months ago it was the wrong size, 110 I believe. Already had the front wheel off and the 110 is a super tight squeeze when I checked fitment.

 110 on my 74 needs a lot of grunt to get in or out and it rubs hard on my brake line older loop.  On a 74.
 I bet it will be tight on yours.

100 front and 120 rear.  Any bigger and your turn-in will be slow.

well, I am now looking at Shinko 805's 110/80 front and 130/80 rear.  I read that someone had this setup and it worked with all stock rims, etc..
