You know, I have been neglectful in posting pictures of MY pets and Tonight (actually Monday Morning, since it is 1:34AM), I was looking at the pictures of Brenda, on Making Everlasting Memories and I cam across this one. These are are first pets and, like Brenda, are long gone.
Of course Brenda is in the middle of them, she was TRYING to read her book and they just wouldn't let that happen.
On the back of the chair, on Brenda's left, is Scooter (named after a cat that I had as a very young boy and my cat was named after a Catcher for the Arkansas Travelers Baseball team years ago) and on her right was Boots (because she had them) and then, getting into her lap was Shadow ( I think it was obvious, because he was black) and then there was Butch (because even though he wasn't a BIG dog, he THOUGHT he WAS!) I remember many things about each and everyone of them, that are pretty cool. These were only the beginning of all of the pets that we would have over the years and most of them are buried in the left rear corner of our yard. Just thought I'd share that. I think it was quite obvious, from the look on Brenda's face, that were were really into our pets. We both had a hard time passing up a stray and ALWAYS had several at one time. I can't tell you all how many times that Brenda would call me up and ask me to come up where she worked or to go to the vet and pick up another stray that she had some upon. I remember one time though, she called me and told me that she found a stray cat that had something wrong with it (I don't remember what it was now) and she knew that it needed to be put to sleep and asked ME to come and get it and take it to the vet, because she couldn't bear to do it herself. Caring for strays, was yet another thing that we had in common.
BY THE WAY, THIS PHOTO WAS NOT STAGED, They just kinda ganged up on her! They were always doing things like that.
