How do you drive more than a block without bending a wheel and getting a pinch flat?

Bwaaahaha,
My neighbor has 28" rims with rubber bands for tires on a Dodge Aspen AWD, and he really can't drive it, as Toledo has so many potholes that he bends or cracks a rim every time he drives it... has it listed on Craigs list, but no takers yet... I hope he sells it as I am tired of it being in the SHARED driveway...

Those wheels look like those Brach's round peppermints.  MAAAAAAAAAAN that's one ugly car.  And to think the owner paid money for those wheels.  ::)

They are ridiculous. Even  the less extreme low profiles are only good for a smooth highway cruiser. Not only do you lose a tire, now you need a rim replacement or repair which will cost more than a tire.  My kid had a set of "low profiles" and after he lost two tires, I told him you are on your own, get a second job because Daddy is done with this #$%*.

I had a Tahoe back in the day with rims, and low pro tires. Drove that thing all over the country without issue. They weren't quite that low pro, though.

How do you drive more than a block without bending a wheel and getting a pinch flat?

Those remind me of the tires and rims that trucks had primarily..until the early 1930's.  I had a 1918 Model T with hard rubber tires and narrow rims.  They were made to carry 'loads' (think wagons LOL) and not going over 25 MPH.  That's the reason they developed pneumatic tires..so that vehicles could ride more comfortably..and go at higher speeds.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised at the new tires and rims that try to emulate something that has been disproven to be either effective or practical nowadays.  Seems like there's always some who want to stand-out from the crowd..even if it means that you appear a fool in doing so..

Gosh..I really sound like an old timer now..don't I ? LOL

That's a "Donk", and it's purely for show.  I saw plenty of them in Austin in the late 90's/early 00's.  At this point they're going for nostalgia points.

When ever I see a vehicle with huge diameter rims and super low profile tires I think of "The Love Bug", when they lost a wheel and had to run a wagon wheel. ::)

Sorry for being ignorant - but how does the exhaust work on that thing?  There are plates over the outlets.

They were called lake pipes although there is probably a few different names for them. When in town the exhaust would be routed further back and be posed though the muffler  but when out racing (by the lake or on the dried up lake) they would open the plate for less restriction and better performance. The downside or upside depending on how you look at it would be very loud.

I personally don't mind donks, and I think a well executed one can be pretty cool. But this just does not seem like the kind of car to do this to.
