Where can I get a valve spring compressor tool

I need the tool to take the valves apart in my 73 350f. Which kind do I get. Where do I get it.

I had to do a head replacement on a scooter project I did a couple years ago. I got my compressor tool from Ebay. I'll see if I can track down the brand.

Also get a magnet pan for valve pins. They’re one of the smallest components on an engine

There is a video of a guy using socket and hammer to get the retainer off.  From what I remember, he puts the head on a folded towel,  holds the socket on top of the retainer and hits it hard with a hammer.

That definitely works.  The towel under head is extremely important otherwise you will bend a valve...........that is from experience :-X

I saw a video of an actual tool for that, it even had magnets to catch the keepers. Plus you could use it to install the keepers with one hammer whack. Not sure but I think Leslie was the manufacturer.

The actual tool is $20, why bodge up a tool and risk damaging your head or bending a valve to save $20?

I'd just buy one on ebay for quick and easy, but.....I believe there is no soft "block" included.  I would just make one and place a strong magnet on the compressor to pick up the tabs.

I just made an adaptor to suit on the automotive one I had,i use this to re-assemble,ive always used the rag under the valve and strike the cap wih a socket and a rag over to catch the keepers = too easy,some ham fisted people get hammers wrong?
