It’s been a month since this was posted so I thought id give an update.

May 23rd I received a pm from painted seat saying he was sorry for it taking so long and he needed to know how I’d like to handle return shipping. I replied usps and send me the total and I’ll paypal it. He said he’d pay half.

Since then, nothing. I sent a request for shipping quote may 29th. I sent him an email and pm saying I was going on vacation and didn’t want them sitting outside, but he never replied to either.

I sent an email and pm today with my new address since we moved yesterday and hopefully he will reply to one of them.

I only live about 2 hours from him - Paintedseat, if you see this I’m off work today and will gladly drive to pick them up today as well.

Here are the pm’s And emails I’ve sent and received:

Paintedseat hasnt been on in 12 days.
He's new to these bikes and carbs, and lacks basic functional knowledge....he's in over his head.

If you ever get these back, PM me.  I'll do what I can to help you out at no charge.

No, no response from him and no carbs. I’m gathering all the info I need to sue him in small claims court - plus my expense of getting to Knoxville.

For a guy who has a wife, 3 kids, and cb750 with the TN license plate: 62Z585  he is not making a smart move. He already almost ruined his marriage from riding an old Ducati too much with 3 small kids at home, I’m betting his wife won’t take kindly to a lawsuit from him stealing someone’s carbs.

He still lives at the address I have - it’s the same house from the pictures he posted on the other board - and yes, I’ve already saved all those pictures. You can see it’s the same house as this from the last time it sold:

Well, I finally got my carburetors back from paintedseat. I had to drive to Knoxville, knock on his door unannounced and tell him that I was there to pick them up, but at least I have them.

At first he did the puzzled look thing where he pretended he was confused and didn’t know who I was, then he told me he had sent them back already so I ask him to show me the receipt for him shipping them back. Then he said he didn’t have the receipt and didn’t know where they were, but thought he had sent them back. Finally he decided he would check his basement and lo and behold he said “someone” must’ve put them in his basement -  but he had really thought that he had sent them back. When I asked why he hadn’t responded to any of my attempts to communicate with him, he said that he didn’t know I had been trying to communicate with him.

Suffice it to say that I don’t have a very high opinion of him at this point.
