oil and neutral indicator light are switched
« on: June 25, 2018, 07:52:01 PM »
Hey Guys,

My 836 is running great...after years of work and research on this site.  Thank you! The last thing remaining is the oil and neutral switch are swapped.  Charging/turn signals/lights all work great. I've followed the wires a 100 times without luck.  For some reason it looks like some of my wires are light blue and red...I know Neutral is light green and red.  Not one diagram can I find anything that is "light blue and red" which leads me to believe I'm color blind,or impaired and or the wires are faded.  I also vaguely recall pulling out what I would call a “patch” or connector wire from inside the light bucket.  A little short connector 2-3” long. Long since lost during the complete rebuild.

What am I missing??

Thanks,

Oil light is served the Blue/Red striped wire to the cluster. It runs along side of the Green/Red (Neutral) from the left sprocket cover, up to the Rectifier harness under the left body panel, then onward to the front end.

If the bulbs are good, then swapping the wires under the cluster should resolve your issue. Perhaps someone spliced them to the wrong position in a connector?
