I believe next on the list will be clean the shop up again then continue to painting the front end up.
Going to order the front brake stuff for the XL250S front wheel.
Still debating if I'm going to make this bike a foot clutch bike or not.

I suck at body work too......Are you using a 21 inch wheel?

What brake parts are you ordering, disc stuff or brake hub?

Bike sure is coming along......!!!!!!

Body work is so terrible LOL. Actually I'm using a 23-inch front wheel the XL 500 and XL 250s had a 23 inch front wheel for three or four years. Tire selection is very limited on them really seem to only be three available tires that I can find.
As far as brake stuff goes I'm just going to order the factory cable operated drum brake hub for that wheel.
Finally really just getting my butt in gear on the bike, just getting an hour or two in sometimes just a half hour every few days as I can find time. Hopefully after I get this one done I can get my original 74 550 on the lift and get it done as well I've got a bunch of new parts and ideas for it.

Cool man. I wanted a 23, but could only find 21s......!

I've got time now, tore me rotator cuff, got surgery next Tuesday. Wife has surgery the next day for a disc in her neck. We'll be a mess, I'm sure.

I've been trying to get stuff cleaned up, and organized, so I can use my good arm to do stuff. I'll be out of work till 26 Sept.

Man I feel for you. The rotator is a terrible injury I tore mine about 5 or 6 years ago.
Work injury got the physical therapy/run around them not wanting to pay out to get it fixed.
My 23 I scooped off eBay. I see them on there fairly often I thought about picking up 1 or 2 more. Just to hand on too.
The tires on those wheel are a bit inconvenient. Bridgestone makes a narrow 23 trailwing which is what I'm going to use.
Cheng Shin sells a knobby (harder to get in the US).
I haven't tracked down the manufacturer yet but I've seen a narrow 23 almost smooth tire for ice racing. My understanding is for the ice racing they put their own metal spikes through the tire.

I've got three 21" wheels, one from a SL350, one that is one the xl250 I just picked up, and one from something that requires a disk. So, if in the future I decide to go with disk front brakes.

I also got a couple other wheels that have drum brakes, looking for a 18" front wheel from a CB350F with disk, for future use as well.

Being a bobber/chopper guy I have a set of Sportster 8spoke invaders. Disc front drum rear. A 21 disc front invader 6spoke. Currently on my Sportster. Then a 17 in 5 spoke invader spool Wich will end up on my 74 CB550 in my signature.

Oh, man.....pictures, loved those Invaders.

My brother has them on his bike, and my first exposure to the Invader.

Closes I could get for the Harley were the 10 spoke Revolvers.

The 5 spoke is rough that's why it's getting coated. There will be plenty once I get to that bike.
About were I can strip this 500 down to paint and load the 550 in.
Once it's apart for pain I'm going to detour for a moment to do a pull wagon project. Provided I find some used wagons.

Also thinking since I haven't de-tabbed this frame going ahead and running side covers on it. Don't care about color bc they will get repainted.

Cool man....sounds like you got a plan........I'm bouncing around so much, I can't get crap done. Everything I got needs something done to them.

I do take the 750 out to ride somewhat, but it still needs to have a light put to it for timing., 350F needs points/timing check too.

Keep up the good work, I'm following right with you.....

A timing light for the ing timing?
I'm unsure how to do it ilunless it's just like a car.
I do roll the plate and use a test light when it kicks on and off.

Just picked up my sporty today's I've got a few last min things to button up and it will be riding. I'm ready for some wind therapy this year for sure.

With rising gas prices my wallet will appreciate it too. My 61 GMC has become my daily and it's not cheap to drive.

As far as scattered I'm usually am. I outsourced a few things... Not something I usually do. Some work on my 61. The sporster the bulk of it at a buddy's place. A different buddy is throwing my XS650 back together and I'm leaving it to him to ride until he buys/builds a chop of his own.

Did all this to try to get my mind pointed in one direction.

Brought my sporty home today. Few small things left to button up on it.
Snapped a pic of my buddy's panhead.
Need to start on the 54 behind my sporty but that's getting pushed off till fall maybe spring.

Helped my buddy score this CB750 chop.
My XS650 in the background. Pic in his garage.
Going to be looking for some Plus 2 tubes for it. And a better set of pipes. Cross overs or drags. If you or someone you know is holding.

As far as the 500 goes I sanded on it for about 10 min this morning when I got off work.
Almost time to paint the front end then pull the motor to paint the frame.

Took a break from the 500.
Cleaning the shop and acquired a little pull wagon. For the last 4 or 5 years I've wanted to find one for a decent deal used and build a little pull wagon rat rod for the kids. So the opportunity presented itself just not at the most opportune time.

It's all great stories start out I was sitting on the toilet taking a poop.... My buddy texted me and told me there was a wagon in the back of my 61 I went out and checked it out and immediately took it apart.

A project thread inside a project thread lol.

Got the rear mounted up. Still need to mount the ammo box. Need to resign the front. As I don't thing it's going to give me enough turning room as is currently.
Finish this. Build the shelf and clean up. Then back onto the 73!

Really I'm not much of a HD guy.
The sporty was just too good a deal for me to pass up on. The panhead is my buddy's. It's great runner he rides it to work most days. About 25 miles 1 way.

The 54 Chevy is a project that the start got pushed back to next year. Sitting on a 81 or 82 Malibu frame. 78k on the chassis and drivetrain. It's what I really wanted for the ole lady to cruise. PS PB and auto.  Hoping it will be one the road in 2 years or so. Mounting the body to the chassis. Willing all the trim holes with metal except the trim line between the roof and the rest of the car. Bright satin white top. Matte black bottom
Simple and clean.

Cut some metal to redo the front end at work. Still got to make a little bit more then weld it up. Hopefully tomorrow or the next night. As she sits right now the rear is done except powder coating.
Need to get some wood and star on the sides as well. Then once it's all done. I'll write down all the hardware I need and go get stainless.

Then back on the chopper.

May have another wagon or 2 coming. I'll put them back till after the bike is done. Unless I get a smaller one then I'm making a trailer for the wagon.

Made a new front section. After a little grinding it worked great. Next order to business will be painting or powder coating the bare metal parts. Possible switching wheels to a set of spoked on the front on a tricycle I picked up after work yesterday morning.
