https://www.dimecitycycles.com/vintage-cafe-racer-caferacer-bobber-brat-chopper-custom-motorcycle-chassis-shock-parts-dcc-originals-diy-mount-clevis-dc104cl.html

These.

I ordered a set of those with Hagon eye to eye shocks and Dime City sent me a set of Hagon eye to clevis shocks and the mounts. I bolted on the shocks and sent the mounts back. They did not have the eye to clevis shocks listed and it is an easy swap if you have a welder but not having to do it is better.

Had to drive a few hours away the other day for a certification test for a new job. On the way back I stopped at a store that I didn't want him to stop at that isn't local to me and picked up a orbital sander while walking around in there tool department. Today I finally got the chance to go outside and do some work again and finish sanding and smoothing the tank for the poor boy chop.

Been a while since I updated.
CB and the XS are outside. Have a another bike on the lift of someone elses. Its been a headache.
Had been waiting on a friend of my GF's Dad to have a clear lift to rake it out. He builds drag KZs.
Unfortunately he has had a lot going on.
So looks like spring possibly Late winter I'm going to rake it myself.
Hopefully have it raked before ai start the next expansion of my shop.

Still here. Built and rode the XS had a shop fire that burned up the wiring back into the stator.
Never got around to rewiring it and replacing the stator. Charging had when out on a trip....
need to get it sold or work on it to get the CB back on the lift.
Have the 74 550 stripped to pull the motor for this bike just lost steam and life happens a lot.
Since I last updated I went pro in boxing, had my 4th kid, moved up at work and changed shifts. Life has been very full.
While thankful for the fruits of my labor I really want to get back to building this Rat chop.

Made a tach plug. Cut the end off the tach cable. Brazed it full of solder and sanded it to shape. Drilled out the rear. Cheap and easy.

Back to the shop out of it's resting place. Just gonna jump in on it as time permits.
Shop is mostly in order again. No reason I can't knock it the rest of the way out by fall.

Sold the tank off it so def sticking with the Jade green with the dent. Fits the ratty style better anyways.

Never actually got started on the shop expansion. Ended up not having the extra money for materials. Even now free used lumber for a year down is few and far between. I need a few tons of gravel for the spot still. My diesel is down not trying to drop load of gravel in my 61....

Life goes on the SOHC gets back to the lift and hopefully onward to a riding bike again before it's over.

4 kids, full time job 7 days a week, and making time to train for upcoming fights makes time the most valuable commodity.

Just a few minutes to sit and type this makes me greatful of some days.

After I dug the ole boy out he landed on the lift. Had to add to more tie down spot at the rear of the lift to tie him where I needed.
Got him tied down and just wasn't tired when I got off work at 7am. So I started to strip the bike down alittle and said he'll might as well cut.
Grover Washington said "Good things might come to those who wait
Not for those who wait too late
We gotta go for all we know"

So the CB got longer like I had always wanted it too.

Slowly getting the front end all patched up. Had a perfect weld going on the first run and half way through I blew a hole. My fault bad fitment. About a mil gap and I had more amps that I should have.
Backfilled that.

Now I'm burning a few extra rods the "thicken" the area so it's not thinner than factory when I grind. After all that if will get a thin coat of glaze and sanded.

With the parts bike I got for the other 74 I have came 2 tanks in pretty decent shape. Probably going to take the latch of one of them for this tank. It's just the thumb latch instead of the key.
I have the bottom piece of metal fitted in. About half welded in.
Next day I got out there I'm going to start taking the front end off to have better access to the area now that the front is stable enough to move around and such.
Going to paint some old brackets while I have the front apart and order new tapered bearing as I heated the grease out of them welding.
That's it for this episode of dumb chopper stuff. Lol.

Ever slowly as I get free time I've made it out to the shop and fitted the last piece for the neck need the grind down the bottom plate and then mold it in. Then I'm ready for paint on this frame.
Originally wasn't going to but I said what the heck. Might as well.
Going to either extend my kickstand or source a extended one.
I shortened on for my XS 650 with good results before I assume it's the same process just with 2 stands instead of cutting from the center.

This whole painting idea started with wanting to repaint my triples then I though will hell....
I have to do the next to cover Honda and bare metal. Why should it not match the rest of the frame. I suppose that means I'll prob paint the motor going into it as well when the time comes.

Funny how things have a way of tacking themselves onto your projects.

I believe next on the list will be clean the shop up again then continue to painting the front end up.
Going to order the front brake stuff for the XL250S front wheel.
Still debating if I'm going to make this bike a foot clutch bike or not.
