Now in stock! Price is 120EU for complete set! Shipping is 8EU.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Subject speaks for itself... I will post this in Hi-Po part of the forum first. Before general public gets familiar.

They will be available in 10 days. First run of 50 sets is in production

Material is 4732 steel... Already at around 30 RC of hardness. Superior to original sintered rotors.

And tolerance between rotor tips is going to be less then 0.1mm. Better then original OEM pump.

This will get your oil pump to better then OEM new state and for less then what OEM rotors would cost if they were ever available...

Mirko, That's cool!
Are the radii a proper trochoidal form?
How much per set?

yep the form is generated using professional software. It is not a duplicate of original rotors...but you will not be able to see the difference
between original and this billet rotor shape with naked eye

oh you 750 centric people..... :)

550 has only one rotor to begin with, no return side

the external diameter fo the rotors should be listed in the dimensional wear limit data of both shop manuals,
if same, trimming it to right width shouldnt be an issue IMHO.

but mirko, since it's all CNC and no tooling, it would be just a matter for scaling the CAD to the diameter for the 550 rotors.... the beauty of new mfg...

Maybe you are correct Yoss but there is a fun fact about this gerotors....

When I reverse engineered original OEM rotors I found out that like usual engineers choose round numbers :)

Supply side of pump is engineered that it supplies exactly 5 liters of oil at 1000rpm, return side is exactly 50% bigger and it pumps 7.5L at 1000rpm

...and to get back to 550 oil pump... one important factor/parameter is how much is center of inside rotor is moved from center of outside rotor. If this is exactly the same like on cb750 pump then it is just the matter of scaling like Yoss suggested... I would bet that 550 rotors have exactly the same form like cb750 rotors just they are longer....

yep, offset of the shaft is critical. regretfully, the 500 manual only list clearance between rotor and housing, not diameter, so no answer, but i would tend to believe that honda used a single rotor dia/shaft offset for all models around that time, chnaging only width. Kaz Yoshima used GL1000 rotors modified for his 400 for exmaple, but i dont have solid numbers, my oil pump is already mounted..

...So if somebody on this forum can give us some measurements from cb550 oil pump rotors(actual name gerators) that would be great

Appears the CB500/550 gerotors are 4/5, 40.54mm OD, 27mm Wide, 11mm shaft, and 3.4mm offset.

.....

Not exactly. They used 50mm rotors on 13mm shafts in some models - the CB750A for example.
Honda spec'd them, Yamada engineered and produced most of them.
