1975 750F Wiring Harness Question
« on: July 13, 2018, 01:00:26 AM »
I'm having trouble determining where the Right Handle Bar wires (Kill Switch, Start Button) connect to the wiring harness.  In the plastic junction box on front of the frame or inside the Headlight bucket?  They seem about 6 inches too short to make it to the plastic junction box.

I think they connect in the headlight bucket, the main wiring loom should finish in there and have wires of same colour waiting to be connected.

The wiring harness from the right handle bar will reach the headlight bucket but not the junction box.  The wire mates will only reach the junction box and not the bucket.

Both harnesses from the bars go down the left side of the steering head, through the wire harness holder that's under the tank mount rubber, between the center and left downtube and into the top opening of the  junction box by the horn. Is this an original control or replacement? I have seen a replacement listed as fitting the CB750F0/1 that will NOT work as it is too short. I just yesterday sent Raf pics for this. If you match up the colors you will see as long as all the switches/colors are correct. Maybe check a schematic for color verification.

The clutch safety switch connects in the bucket.

Also, do you have the original tall -341 mid year K/F0/F1 bars?

I will gladly text pics if you PM your phone number or email them. My tank is off for a few days still.

ps your junction box is not properly mounted. The slot in it on the back goes OVER the tab/the tab fits inside the slot  ;) Your bike looks GREAT from what little I see! Nice paint and decal.

I have 3 harnesses from the handle bars.  Do all 3 route down the left side of the steering head? I placed the tab inside the Junction Box slot which was no easy task as my box version had knurled nuts set inside the plastic box which started turning because of screw corrosion.  I sent my phone number via PM in case you wanted to send some pictures.  Thanks!

Rod,  That blue paint is striking!  Pardon me but is it the original?
Thanks

3 harnesses means you have non-original switches/controls. Keep in mind however that the wire for the clutch safety could be considered a third but it is not wired internally through the bars.

If you have an aftermarket switch on the right bar, then wires are too short. I ran into this on my F1 project. I ended up splicing the original wires onto the new switch.
