Hey everyone.  I'd like to try out my machine for micro de-burr/polishing on some parts like transmission gears, oil pumps, etc. but I'd like some help from the forum members first.

If anyone has some spare components they'd let me experiment on, I'd love to try and get good feedback on if properties are improved or not.  The machine can also perform quite nice polishing on stainless as well if I switch to a different geometry media.

Any guinea pigs??  Max part size is about 6" or so in any dimension.  Through holes aren't a problem, blind holes might present some issues.  Please let me know if you've any questions.

(I've not tried using this on anything other than stainless steel fittings, so this is mostly an experiment that can hopefully help the community)

Is this like the ISF process? It's pretty involved using ceramic stones and certain acids for specific amounts of time.

Much simpler.  Magnetic pin debuting.  But not nearly as in depth or effective as the ISF.  This is mostly geared at gathering data for my experiment from experts.  Theoretically this should help out with achieving a better surface finish overall.

I'd be willing to pay for the shipping to and fro for someone to send me some good candidate parts to test on and offer proper feedback on the process.  The ultimate goal would be to create parts with less friction and improved longevity.

I understand you are still in the experimentation stage, but you need to have a recipe to make this work. Just tumbling until it looks shiny is not the right approach. If you begin to remove material or change dimensions, then parts are made useless. I can have a complete trans plus a few other parts ISF processed for $150 and these guys have been doing it for years. Not trying to piss in your Cheerios, just trying to understand what homework you have done.

$150?  Wow, that's a great price for that service!

And yes, I understand.  I've spent many hours working on optimizing parameters for our other parts we process.  This is more of an opportunity to try out a different, albeit not as optimal, process than stone tumbling or ISF.  This is mostly to help validate the process and offer a slight improvement to a stock part.

Either way, let me know if there's interest in experiments to determine the feedback.
