On the Horns of a Dilemma
« on: October 04, 2018, 12:02:06 PM »
Recently found a really nice set of dual horns for my 1978 CB750F SS. I thought it would be a relatively strightforward install to replace my horns which have never worked since I bought the bike in May. It seems that the PO did the Devil's own work on the wiring to the horn, and so I'm clueless excatly where the dual hookups attach.  The "new" horns have two wires with covered butt-type connectors (one green, one black) which appear to go into into the headlight housing. The real culprit I suspect is eventually going to be that damned Ungo Box someone installed when they were in fashion in the early 80's. Looks like a nightmare to uninstall and may in fact affect my horn set-up.
Does anyone know the correct wiring for the dual horns for my bike? Thanks to any and all responders.

A black wire provides 12V to the horns a yellow or green wire (can't tell on the online diagram)  goes from the horns to the horn button which provides a ground to make them work Mine had two horns and dual wires with 4 plug in connectors under the neck but the horns were mounted on a windjammer bracket. I'm not seeing anywhere to bolt them to now that I've removed the bracket.
