Who do you use to ship bikes
« on: July 22, 2018, 01:12:07 PM »
Hi there

I'm just trying to get an estimate on shipping a bike with in the States.  I would also need them to pick up a few cartons to ship with the bike.

The bike would need to go from Binghampton NY to Compton LA so it's not just across to a State next door and I realise the cost may be quite high, but I would love to know who you have been happy with in the past.

Thanks for your time
Scott

I've used Jim Estes Motorcycle Transport several times with excellent results. 307-677-5853. He's brought me motorcycles from Oregon, California and one more recently from SC. I'm in Texas.

I used Federal twice. Both were priced better than the other quotes. They are not a fly by night operation either. The AMA provides a discount for their members too. Neither time was I asked for a member number either but I am a member. I was just asked if I was an AMA member.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

I’ve had great luck with uShip and haul bikes.  I had a recent interaction with 1aa motorcycle shipping and wasn’t impressed.  They out sourced the pickup to a local generic carrier who showed up with a box truck and I’m pretty sure they have never tied down a bike before.   And they cancelled the deliver on the buyer at the last minute and pushed it out another week.  And keep it mind it’s at the final destination dc.

Their tracking is pretty lacking to.

I used F.U.N. (or whatever) and they were great. They would always email me back right away when I had questions.

I've had great results with U-ship, once or twice I had to be a little flexible about pick up or drop off but it wasn't a problem. Best to set it up a couple weeks out because the first people who respond will give you outrageous quotes in the hopes that you are desperate or don't know any better, but more reasonable quotes will follow.

+1 for Uship.  I used them to get my EBAY purchase shipped to me from NC to CA for less than $300.  I gave it a month and said I was flexible on times and dates.  My bike was added to house move that was headed this way.
