450-500t front sprocket

Hey, 450 guys. Removed left covers on the 500T project. Front sprocket has probably 1/4 inch of play on shaft and 1/8 inch of side play. Shaft does not seem worn. Bike has 8000 miles. No metal shavings in all the grease and dirt. WTF?

They're not a snug fit but, I don't think they should be that loose. I've got a Clymer manual, I'll check and see it they have any specs on that. Have you ever been to
cb450dohc.com
? It's not as active as SOHC4 but, got info and lots of experience there.
Later on, Bill
