copy the number off ignition switch stamped next to the key hole, and take it to a dealer (or one of several who advertise Honda keys on ebay). Honda didn't manufacture a lot of different switches, making it fairly easy to get replacements.
I read that the dealers back in the day, were supplied 3 keys per bike. The buyer got 2, and the dealer kept one after
a bike was sold. I bought a new cl350 and shortly after a new cb500 (my dad's) and both bikes keys were interchangeable.
The 350 was bought in St. Louis, Mo. and the 500 was bought in Tenessee. The ones from ebay are about 10.00 iirc.

I bought a 1975 Kawasaki 900 Z1B 3 or 4 years ago and took the owners word for the fact that it would be a runner due to the fact he had lost the key for it somewhere between his multiple houses. Couple days later after it got it back home and I found the key code I made a trek down to my local big box dealer who has handled all the JAP brands for a very long time. I walked up to the counter, kind of know the guys and asked if there was a chance they might have a key or know where to get one. An older gent showed up and said "let me check" and took my scrap of paper.
Well a little while later he returned and plopped an original set/pair of vintage Kaw 900 keys in my hand. I about sh&t my pants. I asked how much and he said "how bout ten bucks" to which I gleefully replied "Hell Yes"  We laughed and talked a bit about my luck and on the way out he suggested since I was so lucky today to go buy a lottery ticket !  :D

Years ago, when I finally needed a new key for my 1966 305, I visited my local locksmith shop which has been in town for quite some time. Sure enough, he had seven Taylor blanks. I took ‘em all. They’re a bit bigger on the bow, but the blade was identical.
Interestingly, prior to my find at the locksmith shop, I visited a local university campus lockshop for the same search. This shop had everything but the Florida Keys...and a blank for my Honda.
