Quick exhaust question
« on: September 27, 2018, 07:26:05 AM »
Does anyone know the difference in the pipe sizes between the 500 and 750's? I found a great price on CL for a 4 into 1 but the guy doesn't know which model it fits. All I have is the stock 550 stuff to go off of.

10 degree difference in angle of motor.
I don't think the 500 used spigot mount.
 Get a good side view.
Pipe size is the least thing to worry about.

Does anyone know the difference in the pipe sizes between the 500 and 750's?

My stock 550F has 1180mm head pipes while my K3 has 1598mm.

I'd bet a little bit of money it's for a 750 just for the fact that they were a lot more aftermarket pipes manufactured for the CB750.

Post a pic, one of us will recognize it.

Look at a pic of a 500. Now imagined those bolted on  (looking at the pic on the Vette hood)
Now think, where would that car end of the exhaust be pointing ?
 That's all I got

Hook a tape measure over the outside pipe and measure over to the outside pipe on the opposite side. I'm not positive but pretty sure the overall spread on a 750 is wider than a 500 or 550.

Ok...it Looks to me like it is for a 550. Just looking at pics online and judging the angle that it has at the point that it turns at the head end of the pipes. I might be wrong though.....I am a complete newby when it comes to these things
