Topic: Recovering a seat

Hi all I am going to recover my old K7 750 seat but I notice a lot of the teeth that fix the cover to the pan are missing or are in bad shape is there replacement teeth? or some clip system I can fit to the pan Thanks for yor time .

 I have seen where people use contact cement and a bunch of clothes pins/clamps but I have never tried it. Upholstery 'tack strip' may be an option riveted on the pan.

Yep. K7 would be similar without quite as much of a step between driver and passenger section IIRC. Procedure would be the same. 

Left the strap off for now, but you can see the indent in the foam where it used to be.

Damn , i wish i saw your post earlier . I own my own leather upholstery shop since 88 '  ( corporateleather.net ) and i could of saved you a ton of trouble . There are aviation adhesives   ( 3M 1357 ) that could of saved you wrestling with the mounting and fastening of the metal tacking strips ( furniture upholstery fastening system ) . W/ the adhesive you have more control of where the edge of the vinyl will finally end up ( i'm sure you know what i mean after upholstering the seat ) having said that ,the final product looks great !

Thanks, I am happy with the results as well. I work for a sheet metal shop and am a sheet metal mechanic by trade so attaching the metal strips was pretty straightforward. I started pulling the cover over a couple on the sides and then pulled a couple over the points at the front and rear and then pulled the ones in between. Managed to get it to my liking on the first try! While I had the seat apart I pulled the foam, welded up a couple cracks at the edges, and glued the foam back to the pan. Saran wrap on the foam before putting the cover on helped prevent the cover from hanging on the foam and should also help keep the foam dry should I get caught out in the rain.
