With the bike inside I took some time to check a few thimgs out. The handlebars have about 6" of rise as close as I can measure. They do have serrations under the caps. Possibly a later set installed for a more upright ride.

The tires are not original. They are Lien Shin tires front and back. Date code on the front is 431 and I couldn't find one on the back.

If you even "THINK" they are too old.......I would replace them just for piece of mind if anything else. My front tire is original from when I got my bike (april 2000).It still has great tread,no weather check but it has been there god knows how long. I changed my rear out a bit over a year ago and it looks great but I will for sure be changing that front one out for this season. That sucker spent a few seasons in Wyoming at below zero temps and has now been in California garaged for almost 3 years. I would feel alot more cozy if it was replaced at this time.

So your K1 has HM300s huh? Now I'm wondering whether the 341s on my K1 were maybe some replacements at one time.If anyone here knows for sure I would appreciate a post. Anyway I am changing out the bars that came on my K1 with some NOS bars and you can have the set I have now if you want them. They are factory Honda bars and the rise seems correct but they are more swept back towards the rider than the stock bars. Excellent condition and they have the slot in the bottom for the wires. I still have them mounted on the bike so I can send you some pics if you'd like.

Yep, your K1 should have had HM300's. 341's were on the K2-K5 I think.

I might be interested in the bars. Throw some pics my way if you get a chance.

Have any pics in general of your bike.

Hahnda,

When I pulled my '62 Ca95 out of the garage it was sitting in for 25+ years, I also could not find the Title.  I used a service in NV that got me a new Title using a bill of sale from Maine, and it worked fine for the NYSDMV.  I could not find the service I used specifically, but here is what I came up with:

http://www.motorcycletitle.net/

However, if you are not in a rush - just apply at your State's DMV, let them run a VIN search and it will probably be cheaper.

Best of luck with your new baby!

Besides the obvious number stamped on them. The 341's have a smaller outlet in the baffling and more baffling. The 300's have a much larger outlet in the baffling that looks like a bolt passing through it. The outside of the pipes appear to look the same.

The very first HM300 pipes had no baffles at all, just the fiberglass-packed inserts on the ends of the pipes. Those were the first "sandcast" bikes. Somewhere in the 1969 production, a baffle was added near the upward bend. This is the more common version. The K1 had this type of pipe, too. The fiberglass inserts were a nearly straight-thru design and the opening at the end was about 50% larger than the ones we're mostly used to seeing. One of the drawbacks to this design came if a little rust got started: the lack of internal baffling also meant a lack of mechanical support, and the pipes shake apart easier than the later ones. I loved the sound of them, though, and they produced more HP above 5000 RPM.

The K2 introduced the 5-chamber baffle version of the HM341 pipes with a smaller-holed "plug" on the end of the pipes. By the end of the K3, there were up to 7 chambers in the HM341 pipes. All of the K4-later pipes that I have seen open have 6 or 7 chambers inside.

Recently I came across some HM341 pipes with 5 chambers and put them on my K2. It sounded more like old home week again!  :)

Mark, can you describe these in more detail? I ask, because I have been baffled  ;D for some time. The inserts in the tail-end of my unmarked pipes do not look like the equivalent part in my K0-k2 parts list. Mine have a "waisted area" several inches long, narrower than the rest of the insert, onto which the fiberglass is wrapped.

I was under the impression that early 750's had lower bars compared to the like 73 to 76 models.

My 750 stock handlebars have "K3" stamped on them in an area hidden by the right-hand control pod. I wonder if other OEM handlebars were stamped with the model bike they were for, as my bike is a K3 model..?

Now I'm wondering if my K1 may have had the HM300s replaced with HM341s sometime in it's past. They sure looked original when I took them off. Maybe my K1 was late in the production line when they were transitioning from K1 models to K2 models. My frame number is 1066815.

Mine is 1061820.

From pictures and parts manuals I have gathered that there was some sort of change mid-year with a few of the parts. what sort of Upper triple tree do you have?  The kind where the gauges clamp to it or bolt to it? Are your idiot lights in the gauges or on a panel?

Not sure if my description made sense, so here are some pictures. The drawing is from the parts list/diagram that covers the CB750 (aka K0), the K1 and the K2. According to it, the drawing is of the 'correct' baffle for the K0 and K1. The photo is of my baffle (with the fiberglass) removed. Several years ago someone told me this was from a European model, which really seemed unlikely to me. I am the second owner and have owned the bike since '74. Again, these baffles (pic) are from my unmarked pipes.

I have the tree where the gauges attach via a separate plate that bolts to the upper triple clamp. The idiot lights are in the handlebar clamp.

After Rocking-M was inquiring about where I lived and what guns I owned I figured I better bring her in the house.  8)

That way, you can work on it all winter! I had a friend who did that, and kept parts in the refridgerator! Worked great! Nice bike!

Wow what a find, so happy for you mate! Don't sell it you will regret it forever ..trust me. Yea as you say polish and repaint the top yoke (tripple tree) and MH300 pipes this is a real find.  It dont need a full rebuild its too cool as it is, trust me this untouched bike will fetch silly money later..  Oh and the bars I can tell you my K0 was fitted with a pair of these, I was told they were american spec, poss off K1.  I fitted the correct bars to mine about 4 years ago. Compared to mine your bars are about 2" higher and 2" narrower..............Agh still can't get over the price but run the bike give the pleaseure to others when they are taken back in time by that sight and sound and let's all celebrate another cracking example of the mark being brought back to life. And it gives hope to others that if they keeping looking there are still some outstanding deals to be done, keeps the whole CB750 scene when a bike can be had without paying silly money.

The baffels shown are HM300 baffles, I always buy HN341 pipes then send a tank cutter down and rip out the baffel plates!!! In the UK salt on the roads wrecks about 1 pipe a year so I dont mind the £90 each time.  My bike was running a dunstall high lift cam, 125 main jets and dunstall high lift pistons, it really went well but had to have the pipes derestricred.  After an unfortunate overrevving a gungen pin circlip came out and the resultant scored bore meant new pistons but I could only get satndard HM parts.  The high lift cam would not worl with standard pistons so a K2 can went in. It now runs 120 main jets and is.....OK.... anyone know where I can source dunstall high comp pistions. Oh as well Im build a spare 850 overboar engine.  Anyone got any experiance of these.

Well I finally got the K1 out of the dining room. Over the winter I did a little polishing and actually an oil change while it was in the house. (Don't tell the wife, she was gone and will never know) I put some gas in the tank, dropped in the new battery included in the sale, and thumbed the starter button.

I'm in Love..............  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

It started up with the choke about half way, and just sat there idling. I quickly put on a jacket and helmet and I was off. No tags, no insurance, no nothing, but damn it I was going to ride it a few miles. So I did. But no worries. I live in a really rural area and the chances of me even meeting another car let alone a cop are pretty small.

The sounds coming from the unbaffled 4-4 were amazing!

Before this day I had never rode a CB750. I had rode my CB650 quite a bit and my CB500 just a little before I tore it apart. Never a CB750.

The power, the smoothness, the sound, all from a 36+ year old bike.

I'm still torn though. This bike has really low miles and is in really good original shape. Do I ride the heck out of it? Or baby it and only drive it on Sundays?

I'd baby it! No seriously... I would ;D

   ;)

I thought I had a great deal. $450 on a 1975 CB400F SS with 22k.

My father and I always wanted a CB750 but there doesn't seem to be any, here in Ohio.

I'm not kidding! I found just one in the past 2 years with 13k from the 2nd owner. And while on the trip and 3.5 miles from him, my firebird breaks down.

The fuel pump connector came loose.  I will never forget that :(
