Topic: Later bikes...fuel cap door lock substitution

My cb750f keeps killing off the lock that closes the door over the fuel cap...sucks to pull in to a gas station and find that the lock has mostly disappeared and nothing is holding that door closed.   For whatever mysterious aerodynamic reason the door mostly stays closed while riding but I can hear it rattling excessively.  Anyway, I am fresh out of spare locks and getting tired of old original parts that just fall apart anyway.

Someone on here had a neat trick to substitute a Dzus fastener or something like that.  I searched but could not find it.  Please post up with any ideas or links.
