Brand new with a few questions
« on: August 07, 2018, 06:13:13 AM »
Hello,

I am brand new here, I just bought a 1977 cb750k and it was completely stripped when I got it. I am in the midst of putting everything back together and have a few questions. I found a few pictures online of bikes I am trying to make it look similar to.

I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of seat this.

Does anyone know what the diameter of the carbs are?

Thanks so much for everyone help in advance, I am very excited to restore this bike and this forum has already been so helpful!

Those are earlier carbs, we call them roundtops. Might hit your 77 tank.
I think the seat is a Texavina seat.

That seat looks like a very uncomfortable custom seat made with the stock pan, although on the plus side the owner didn't have to cut up the back of the frame and was able to retain part of the rear fender.

Roundtops are 28mm carbs.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

I think Danny is right.  It looks like it is using the existing stock pan, with cut down foam and new upholstery.

I cannot believe how helpful all of you were!! thank you so much to everyone who responded so quickly. I am very open to ideas I just like the look of the picture I provided. after looking over what some of you said, would any of you have any recommendations of a very comfortable and affordable care racer style seat? preferably brown leather. I really like the idea of cutting off the stock bracket and adding the hoop with the brake light integrated in that. Have any of you done that? if so all advice would be greatly appreciated!! ;D

I put a brown generic café seat on my 550 at one point. I didn't cut up the frame, but it would have fit better if I had. It came from EBay and was actually very comfortable I put in several multi-hour days on the trip from the photo.

Also I am missing a bunch of random bolts (shock bolts and many more for things similar) does any one know a place that sells a kit of bolts for a 1977 cb750?I have found some website that sell kits for like engine bolts and things of that nature but I need a kit for more generic things.

If you're asking what size the carbs are so that can you can order pods, better do some reading first.
