K8 CB750K Clutch assembly..number of plates
« on: August 09, 2018, 06:47:36 PM »
Been trying to figure out the clutch drag issue on my K8.  I had a shop look over my clutch install and they redid it but doesn't eel much better.  I changed to Rotella oil because I was running regular 10-40.  It helped a little but still dragging.  OCD kicking in I decided to take the clutch apart and redo it again using a different clutch disc kit with all square pucks instead of all swirled that the EBC kit had.  Now only thing I can't wrap my head around or maybe I'm over thinking it is how many friction discs and where does the double steel plate go.  Right now I'm using 1 outer disc with the bigger tangs (the EBC kit didn't have a disc with a bigger tang) plus 6 friction discs with the double steel plate in the middle of the 6.  Is this correct for the K8?  Also the mechanic never installed back the lock washer.  I'm not sure how crucial that lock washer is but I'd like to get the bike back together if ASAP if I don't really need to order it.
