What is it?
« on: August 17, 2018, 01:26:21 PM »
Maybe I'm just dumb, but what is the VERY small, raised, round red light on my 1978 750F about? It does not appear in the owner's manual and I'm just wondering. It has never come on (maybe that's a good thing!). Just to the right of the neutral light, and just above the right directional light. Thanks for any input.

Is there a chance it’s something added by a previous owner? I had a toggle light switch made into my left side cover. It didn’t take long to realize the previous owner must have installed it. I’ve never seen another one and I’ve havent seen in a manual.  Just a thought. Also might help if you can show a picture.

The stock 750F definitely doesn't have a light there. So whatever it is was added by a PO.

Perhaps a PO added a security system at one point.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

I can't remember right now, but I'm pretty sure that either the JDM or European model had a extra red indicator. I seem to remember a thread about it a few years ago.

As you can recall, what was the intent of the light?

Can you not trace the wires and see where they end up?
