Hi gang,

Not running the OEM idiot light cluster, instead have mounted green and red LED's in the headlight bucket.  Can't get them to light up.

Here's what I've done so far to test for where the issue might be:

OK....I connect the N wire and the Oil wire to the OEM idiot light cluster's appropriate wires, and hook the cluster's black wire to the black double connector in the harness.....and I get a green N light, and the red oil light.  Nothing else from the cluster is connected.   All is good.

Set the OEM cluster aside, run the harness' N wire to a LED power wire, the harness' Oil wire to another LED's power wire, and run both LED's grounds to that black connector in the harness.   Nothing.

I've tested both LED's in the high beam wiring circuit, and they light up when high beam's are switched on.

What am I missing?   Is there something in the OEM cluster that is preventing me using the LED's this way?   Must I do something wonky with the unused wires (signals, highbeam) from the harness?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Cal!

Headlight, front turn signals and idiot lights all buttoned up.   Front fender on.    Throttle cables tidied up (yet again).
