Smokinogan Valley in the PNNW..
« on: August 18, 2018, 06:59:01 PM »
Above the PNW  lies the Pacific North NorthWest  aka British Columbia.
Smoke has been bad, but since last night got really bad .

Shot down our street , there is a mountain  or hill about 1/2  mile away, hard to even see it..
I added a shot from a downtown camera..

How are things in Northern Washington and Alberta ?

Tag, you're it! Ours is over. Some bed wetting sob lit that up about 2 weeks ago, closed Ortega Hwy 5oo. I know you know where that is, Frank, maybe next week I'll go home that way and see if it burned the Look out.

It was bad....well, it still is, but not as bad as last week.  We had a day of onshore flow, and it cleared out all that BC smoke temporarily.
E. WA has it worse, as there are a few fires in the Wenatchee/Entiat area.

I drove thru E-burg on the 11th.
Typical afternoon windy-as-ufck....then the wind just shut off and the smoke settled in.
Its bad enough here that the moon is brown at night  :-\

That's Colorado all summer any more  :'( If it's not our fires, which are MOSTLY out, we get smoke from all the western states and PROVINCES (currently). Went on a 200 mile loop ride yesterday on the eastern edges of the Rockies. I saw the remnants of 2 previous huge burns - Waldo Canyon and The Hayman fire plus smoke everywhere from Frank and his crazy Canucks.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Last year in  west central Illinois we could smell burning plastic. I was told it was from Canada, a subdivision had burned.

AQI just east of Seattle at 10pm last night was 130.
Today, its 181.
We need some onshore flow and rain asap!
