550 that goes like a 750!
« on: April 04, 2019, 01:34:44 PM »
I finished this 550 two-stroke triple, last summer. I bought it with a ton of Honda cb750 parts/ bikes. My first ride was a real surprise! What a rocket. New owner loves it.......

Hopefully I will get motivated and try and get this one on the road a little this summer. I have worked on it a little and made it run when I got it quite awhile ago but never took it up to the next level yet.
How far did you dig into that engine, new crank seals and rings and more ? Pic of mine when I got it in 2011. Came with stock exhaust and the Bassani's.   That was a good day as I bought the 550 in the morning and a GT750 in the afternoon somewhere else. Stuffs not around like it used to be.

Mine had not run for a while. I cleaned and synced the carbs, ran like a rockstar. Sold it and the new owner is still having a blast, two year later. He takes very good care of it, but mostly just rides it a lot.
