some of them are different... here, at least...

many have sand mixed w/ the paint to add grip.  many don't.

try not to be gunning it around corners or taking away from lights and that will help most.  how are your tires?  crosswalks are pretty dangerous in general concerning motorcycles.  i'd compare them to wet fall leaves and oil on the road just after the rain starts.

looks like you're starting to learn that crosswalks are something to be respected though... that's your best defense.

Freshly painted markings are really slick, it seems more so now than in the past. It seems they are using a thicker paint that actually is slightly raised. I guess we just roll over it and keep the bike a straight as you can to keep the load off the tires.

Lean a bit more aggressively before the lines......straighten the bike up a bit over them and then lean it back in. If your not pushing hard sideways at that moment, no worries ;D

works for me, I hate to have the back end go south...unless I want it to ;D ;D

And the stickers are vinyl.  When I took my safety class, the instructor brought in a piece of road that had the traffic sticker affixed.  Even dry, it's slicker than you think.

Almost exclusively used here, dry or wet they are nasty.  Really makes a difference if you jump on a high HP bike dry or wet, and the vinyl stickers are worse since they are 1/4" to 3/8" if they are done over paint or over the old sticker.  Gives the tire enough 'bump' to start sliding no matter what you ride.
