OK, if you make a pass that is close or ahead of the current record you can make the return pass once you go to tech to request. You return to tech after the return pass to qualify. If you better the record then you can have your engine bolts marked/sealed with nail polish that must remain intact. You can then keep running or even run the other classes. You can stop whenever you want but if you stop say on Saturday then the competitors have until Thursday to better your time. If your record is intact on whatever day you choose to stop then you have to go to tech and take the top end off where they measure bore and stroke. If you do this say Tuesday and tear down your top end then someone still has the chance to better your numbers. If they pass tech after you have they win and you tore yours down unnecessarily. Make as many passes as you want. Tweak it every time if you want just don't open up the engine after you've qualified for the record and have your engine tagged.
