1977 CB550F 06 GSXR front end offset help
« on: August 26, 2018, 09:27:18 PM »
Hey all,

I've recently got a GSX-R front end that I'll be putting on the bike and I'm perplexed with what offset I should be running with a 18 or 19 inch rim
I've read between 45-55mm offset using the cognitomoto custom offset triple tree but I'd rather buy once than having to tinker with getting the correct one.

My rear suspension and wheel is OEM spec (18 inch rim 100/90 tire) and I'd prefer to keep the front wheel OEM in the sense of 90/90 tire and 19 inch rim but I'd consider an 18 inch front wheel as well.

Stock 550 offset is 45mm. Assuming your total fork length will be about the same that should put you in the right place. I got a custom 45mm offset from cognito after talking with Devin on the phone for about half an hour. Super nice guy.
