K7 750 airbox plastic material
« on: August 31, 2018, 03:42:37 PM »
Can somebody confirm from what plastic is airbox body made? Is that polypropylene or polyethylene or something else (I guess not abs..)

Why I'm asking - got this second hand bottom part, want to mod it to incerase air flow and want to keep my stock one unmodified. But that second hand has broken part around one screw that I want to fill and fix with some glue (epoxide etc). But to do it right I need to know type of plastic..

that is very common on the later bikes...no idea why Honda went away from the thumb screws found on the earlier models

Also, no idea what kind of plastic it is.

I do remember seeing some different diy fixes for those rounded out bolt holes posted on this site from back in the day
If it works good, it looks good...

I would take a chance with epoxy - there are some made to glue most plastics, it will hold.

This is my plan since beginning, but knowing plastic type will be great to select the right one first time
