Accident
« on: September 17, 2018, 05:15:50 PM »
I fell off on the way home from work yesterday. I was on my wife's Honda VTR250. 40 kmh zone. A Chinese guy just breezes through a give way sign. I locked up the front twice in quick succession, then she went down. Sprained left thumb, sore right shoulder, grazed knee, and my groin also feels a little strained. Dririder textile jacket ripped & brand new work pants ruined. About $1,100 worth of damage. Someone coming towards me had a dashcam, and sent me the video. I'm off to the doctor today. I'll see if I can get the rest of the week off work...

Same here, glad it wasn't any worse. I know, it would have been better, if it hadn't of happened. Some people just don't look and, as we know, some just don't care.

Trevor, glad you are not seriously injured, unless the thumb is worse than a sprain. Sometimes you can have a worse injury than an er doc will diagnose. Hope you recover quickly and your wife does not give you too much grief for wrecking her bike.

Keep an eye on that thumb.
It could be the bain of all m/c racers, a scafiod fracture.
They quite often won't show up in an xray till weeks after an injury.

Cheers,

Wow Trevor, You had someone looking after you that day! Keep an eye on the thumb for sure, I had a detached tendon, called goalkeepers thumb... goalies get it a lot! After 6 months it wasn't better, and went to a hand surgeon and he knew right away what it was. Had it fixed, and it is almost back to normal now! I did low side again at the track, hurt the same thumb, but not as bad...

I run a dash cam on the bike aswell, lotta people will lie about what happened if something does happen.

I'm very close to getting a camera to mount on my bikes.

Still a little sore, but well on the road to recovery.
