David Silvers shocks
« on: September 29, 2018, 07:05:35 AM »
Wondering if anyone has had experience with David Silver's shocks. I know IKONS and Hagons are well thought of but I haven't heard anyone comment on DSS. I don't ride aggressively, mostly highway or two lane blacktop. Rarely ride two-up. Any thoughts are much appreciated!!  CB750K8,
has some rusty old Showa's on it now, no idea what they came off of.

I think that the shocks that they sell are OEM quality, so adequate to the basic task of providing suspension, but nothing near the quality you would get from Ikon, Racetech, or Hagon.

Personally when I finally replace my shocks over the Winter I plan to spend the extra couple hundred on Ikons or Hagons. I am going to hold on to this bike for a while and so it is worth the money. If you think you will be selling soon, then an OEM look set from David Silver would probably be fine.

Are your Showas rebuildable?

Not sure if mine are rebuildable or not. No numbers or letters of any kind that I can see to identify them. The rods are very rusty and pitted so they would need to be replaced along with seals, etc.
Probably go with the IKONS -- I just hate to spend $600 for a set of chrome shocks (don't really want the black shocks on this bike even though they are less money).
