1976 CB550F Outer Valve Springs

My outer valve springs measured short/compressed so I ordered the original Honda part number through Ronnie’s Bike Shop. They sent me the superseding part number. The new spring has closer/compressed coils on one end. Questions:

Does this look right to you all?

Which direction do I place these spring during reassembly?

Closer wound coils go on the bottom
