Which Piston Rings Do I Use with 300 Code Pistons?
« on: September 06, 2018, 03:03:01 AM »
I have 4 NOS 300 Pistons. How do I know if I need one piece oil ring set like 13011-300-013 or the three piece oil ring set like 13011-300-024?
One piston has a 5 on it, two have 7s and one has a 9. Are these numbers important? Should these numbers be the same? All weigh 162 grams.

Thanks

They are not all the same!

I guess what I really want to know is:
Will the three piece oil ring work on these pistons?
I have a set of 4 of the three piece oil ring type and only one set of rings with the single piece oil ring.
I don't want to spend money if I don't have to

Thank you Jerry. I feel less anxious when I see  the super-cession of part numbers in print for some reason.
